Mechantiques - Mechanical musical instruments bougth, sold & traded

BUY SELL TRADE!   Mechantiques is the country's largest dealer in mechanical musical instruments. We buy, sell and trade all forms of mechanical musical instruments such as disc or cylinder type music boxes, musical clocks, coin operated pianos (often called nickelodeons or orchestrions), band organs, carousel organs, monkey organs, phonographs with horns, automata, mechanical singing birds, organettes, etc. - anything in antique mechanical music.  We also handle other particularly interesting and early mechanical items such as pre-1895 electric fans, pre-1940 slot machines, cast iron vending machines, Wurlitzer jukeboxes from the 1940's, etc.

Mechantiques typically buys items outright. We buy one piece or collections, and will take all applicable items in a collection so you don't have to worry about the harder to sell items.

Mechanical Music Wanted To Buy – One Piece Or An Entire Collection. We are continually in the market to buy items to resell. Please let us know if you are thinking about selling. Quick decisions and quick payment – no risky and speculative consignments. We only buy outright.

PRICES & PAYMENT: We carry a large stock, and sometimes things hang around longer than we would like or we simply are looking to make some room so we reduce prices - we typically make a notation when a price has been reduced, and these items can represent real bargains, so check for them. Also, we are not insulted by offers! If you see something you really like, but feel the price is a little higher than it should be or a little more than you can justify, make us an offer, we will give you a simple "yes", "no", or "in between"! Can't afford to pay for an expensive item fully up front? We often arrange for payment plans of up to a few months or more on more expensive items, again - just ask, we're really very nice!

We maintain a list of specific items wanted by collectors so that we can contact them when that item comes in. We handle a lot of pieces, and often an item will sell directly to a customer on our "wanted" list before it ever appears on a sales list. We urge you to let us know what you are looking for by leaving your wants with us.

We are members of the Musical Box Society International, Automatic Musical Instruments Collectors Association and the Musical Box Society of Great Britain.

Mechantiques does not buy regular player pianos (e.g. the type you have to pump), just electric grand and coin operated pianos

Please note that we do not buy any mechanical musical items made after about 1930, and no music boxes made after about 1910, so if your music box is marked "Japan" or "Reuge" or "Thorens" it would be a waste of your time to contact us about it.

 --------------------------------------------

Of course we are still buying! Please call us with individual items or collections.

As a policy we do not take items on consignment, we only buy outright. We consider consignments to be risky and speculative for the seller, allowing the dealer to overestimate what something is worth just to get items on consignment, and perhaps never pay for items. We feel that buying outright is much quicker, cleaner, and provides considerable peace of mind to the seller.  Mechantiques does not do restorations, however we will buy items in any condition.

In 2006 the Roenigks made the latest addition to their group of properties in Eureka Springs - purchasing a historic 1901 stone church and renaming it the Gavioli Chapel. The Gavioli Chapel is being used for wedding ceremonies, but in addition it houses a small collection of antique mechanical musical instruments, highlighted by a fantastic Gavioli fairground organ from the Tom Fretty museum. These instruments are available to be seen by calling the manager of the Gavioli Chapel at 479-253-0003 or 1-877-933-0003. This is an effort to provide a fun environment for weddings and to bring antique mechanical musical instruments out in front of the public again.
