Phonographs

Argentina Collection
--------------------------------------------
ARN-1 Columbia BII of 1909 vintage with smooth wood horn – finish has been stripped and not refinished. Phonograph has been very nicely refinished. The nickel plating is still nice and bright. Overall this is a very nice machine. $2150

ARN-2 Victor V with 11-panel black horn. This Victor phonograph was brought out in 1903 with a production run to 1920. It has a good, original finish and the horn is excellent with only minor scratches and dents. This is a very late version with a slip-in elbow and automatic shut-off. $1950 [SOLD]

ARN-3 Victor V with oak spear tip horn with older and very nice refinish with patina. The nice original finish on the case is dark. The machine has good nickel. The pinstriping on the bracket is faint. $2750   [SOLD]

ARN-4 Columbia BY of 1909 vintage with nice wood horn. Refinished horn and case are a good match. The nickel plating on the bracket and elbow show surface rust and the nickel is gone from the tone arm. $2750 [SOLD – BK]

ARN-5 Columbia BJ with nice, bright nickel and original finish. The finish is dark and approximately 80% of the original decal remains. It should clean up nicely with little effort. $1550 [SOLD]

ARN-6 Zonophone Grand Opera with large, all-brass morning glory horn. The nickel and finish on this phonograph are in very good condition. The back bracket detailing is faint. $1650 [SOLD - AW]

ARN-7 Victor V in scarce mahogany case with matching mahogany spear tip horn. Small chip on edge of horn and small repaired hole in horn. The detailing on the back bracket is faint but otherwise it is in nice, clean condition. $3700 [SOLD – JD]

ARN-8 Columbia BII with smooth wood horn. Some minor separations on the horn. All original finish. The decal is 90% intact. The nickel on the bracket shows some wear. $2650  [SOLD]

ARN-9 Columbia BII with a mismatched horn. The horn is mahogany and the case is oak. The finish on the horn and machine are in good condition. The horn would be better suited for a Columbia BD or BY. $2200

ARN-10 Victor V with oak spear-tip horn. A pinhole damage to horn. The finish is dark. The turntable is missing felt. The bracket detailing is faint. The plating is very good with the exception of the turntable. $2700

ARN-11 Columbia BI. The finish on this machine is dark. The nickel-plated horn is in excellent condition. All other nickel-plated parts have surface rust. The plating is gone from tone arm. $1100  [HOLD - DIL]

ARN-12 Columbia BNWM in mahogany case. This is a nice, clean machine. The horn has been stripped and not refinished and has one fine repair to a separation, the case is fine original finish. Very nice smooth mahogany horn. $2000  [HOLD - SV]

ARN-13 Columbia BNW. This is a nice, clean machine. The finish is in good condition. Only the nickel bezel around the turntable shows wear. $1100 [SOLD]

ARN-14 Victor III in oak with smooth oak horn in excellent condition (repair to small end of horn, good job). Has nice, original finish and nickel plating. Good detailing on back bracket. $2450   [SOLD-AW]

ARN-15 Victor II with smooth oak horn. This is a nice, all-original machine. It has good detailing on the bracket. The finish is crazed on the horn and cabinet. The nickel parts are dull although they may clean up. $2100 [SOLD]

ARN-16 Victor IV with nice, black petal horn. Very good nickel plating. The case has been refinished. Detailing on back bracket is in fair condition. $1775

ARN-17 Victor VI. This is the scarce first version of the VI with the highly polished nickel motor and ball-bearing race for the turntable. The case has had a very nice older refinishing. There is no gold finish left on the elbow and crank. The rest of the gold plating is in good condition. The bracket has some paint loss. Detailing is good. The horn has been repainted. Serial number 1462. $5150

ARN-18 Victor VI. This is the second model VI. The finish appears to be original. The gold, detailing and bracket are all in good but worn condition. The crank does not have any gold plating on it. Dents in the oversized horn. Serial number 2009. $4650

ARN-19 Victor IV. Very clean condition is the best way to describe this Victor. Everything on this machine is nice and bright. Some paint missing on one horn panel. All you need is a turntable felt and you are good to go. $1900 [SOLD]

ARN-20 Columbia BI. A well-preserved machine with a nice, bright nickel horn. Also very good nickel on all parts of the machine (except the tone arm which is common with this model). The finish on this case is brighter than the photograph suggests. $1425 [SOLD]

ARN-21 Columbia BNWM. Overall the machine is in good condition with nice, bright nickel and finish. Oak horn and case. The oak horn would be better suited for a Columbia BI. $2100  [SOLD]

ARN-22 Spanish Victor. The cabinet and hardware are in excellent condition. The horn, however, is not a good match. It is a Victor VI mahogany spear-tip horn with a very dark finish. Sharp looking cabinet. $2800  [SOLD - MP]

ARN-23 Victor VI. This phonograph and horn has been very nicely refinished. The gold plating is in good condition, but the bracket has been repainted and lacks detailing. The crank lacks any gold plating. Stop mechanism not replaced or re-installed but w with the machine. The name plate is missing. $4600

ARN-24 Columbia AH. This is a nice, straight original machine. The horn has some minor dings and scratches. $1100 [SOLD - AW]

ARN-25 Victor R. Most of the original oxidized copper finish is worn off. The finish is dark and thin. It is missing the crank hole escutcheon and the brake is broken. $875  [SOLD]

ARN-26 Zonophone A. This is an early model with support arm toward the center. Glass sides. The case has original finish, all nickel parts are very rusted. The horn and reproducer are probably too late for this phonograph and may be Victor or Columbia AJ parts. Missing curved wire support for horn. $2775
[SOLD – BK]

ARN-27 Johnson Model C. This is the European version with a fancier case. The nickel shows wear and the horn is a reproduction. $2600

ARN-28 Victor D. The case and nickel plating are very good. The detailing on the bracket is faint. The horn is nice and straight, the paint on the horn is in fair condition. $2200 [SOLD]

ARN-29 Victor II. This machine is in average condition with good finish on the case and nickel parts. The horn is in fair condition with some rust spots. Back bracket has been nicely repainted but without stencils. $900  [SOLD]

ARN-30 Victor IV with eleven-panel horn. Nice machine with refinished case. Has good nickel and detailing on the bracket. The crank is not correct for this machine. $1750  [SOLD]

ARN-31 Columbia BNW. Someone put a mahogany horn on this machine. Originally it would have had a metal horn. The nickel plating is good, the horn has had minor separation repairs. The horn would be better suited on a Columbia BNWM. $1800

ARN-32 Rare Victor Melba. Overall this is a very nice, original machine. The horn is incorrect for this machine. It looks like an after market horn more suitable for a Victor V. $5000 [SOLD – BK]

ARN-33 Rare German Coin-Op Machine. This machine is complete and original. Embossed designs on oversized case (partially allowing for drawer in bottom). Elaborate castings for horn support. Very intriguing mechanism for coin operation, etc. The horn shows some wear. The machine is in good working order. Drawer in back for coins. $3,750 [SOLD]

ARN-34 European Victor phonograph in original finish oak case with a wonderful clean wood grained metal horn. The nickel plating and finish are in excellent condition. The two rear columns are missing. No crank. Exhibition reproducer doesn’t slip on. $1350

ARN-35 Victor II. Nice machine with black pedal horn. The horn has some rust spots and is probably from a Victor IV. The crank is not original to this machine. Incomplete reproducer. There is a nice finish on the case. The phonograph presents well. $950

ARN-36 Victor III parts machine. No horn. It is missing the speed control, reproducer and slip in elbow for horn. The case and plating are in good condition. $500 [HOLD – EH]

ARN-37 Victor III parts machine. No horn. This machine is missing the crank. The finish and plating are in good condition. Motor disassembled. $400 [SOLD]

ARN-38 English Victor parts machine. No horn. This machine is missing the crank, reproducer, reproducer elbow, hinges, and bolts to hold horn support to case. The finish and nickel plating are in very nice condition. $325  [SOLD]

ARN-39 Collection of 184 Lithograph Needle Tins. An exceptional collection of lithograph needle tins, all or virtually all different. Certainly difficult and time consuming to accumulate, and would make a fascinating wall display. $2,700.  [SOLD]

--------------------------------------------

Edison Amberola Style 75 Oak Upright Phonograph Very nice upright Amberola in oak, plays well. $900. Located in the Gavioli Chapel

HP-29 Zonophone Grand Phonograph With Horn Very nice and scarce Zonophone "Grand" model in excellent condition. $1,850. Located in Gavioli Chapel.

Edison Amberola with Base Cabinet. This is an Edison Amberola, I think model 30, with the base cabinet where the phonograph slides in from the back. From the photos you can see that this needs a lot of work. It is missing the front door (although the hardware is with it), and the veneer on the right side and the
top is very bad. There appears to be a gear cover missing from the mechanism, don’t know if anything else is missing. Nonetheless, a desirable model. PRICE REDUCED TO $300 as is.

SA-11 Victor V with Oak Horn Original example needing restoration, Case with original finish has stain on lower molding on left. Horn is heavily alligatored and has damage at the smaller end including some wood missing (see photos). More desirable spear type horn. Serial number 44371. $2,100.

  CV-8 Morning Glory Horn Coppery/gold color. $150

DU-177 Oak Victor Style I with Oak Horn. Lovely example of the very popular and difficult to find wood horn Victors. Beautiful oak horn with decal. Clean split in wood at front right corner of top. Spring is slipping so I can't wind it to see how it works - I expect the problem is minor. Overall a very nice example. $2900.

DK-3 Brunswick Upright Phonograph. Mahogany. Runs. $200.

DK-13 Peter Pan Folding Graphaphone. Neat little Peter Pan picnic style folding Gramaphone. Very well made, fine machine work on parts. Very neat folding horn that sort of pops forward when end of case is opened. Leather or leatherette case is worn. Case is 4 ½" by 6" by 6 ¾". A fun and unusual phonograph example for your collection. $275.  [HOLD - SV]

HP-37 Scarce Remington Model 2 Upright Phonograph. Very Large style upright phonograph. Gold plated exterior components.  Serial number 2036.  Plays very well.  Very decorative fretwork in front of horn. $275.

HP-41 Oak Victor Wood Phonograph Horn. Rare opportunity to buy one of these great oak Victor wood horns – I believe it is for the “Schoolhouse” model. Nice condition with some minor damage. PRICE REDUCED TO $1,100

HP-42 Gold Plated Lateral Disc Adaptor Arm For Edison Phonograph. Nice example of adapter arm so that an Edison thick disc phonograph can play lateral groove records. Gold plated, minor amount of plating off. Original box. $150.

Wicker Haywood Wakefield Upright Phonograph.  This is the first wicker phonograph we have ever had.  Seems to be in nice original condition.  Some paint splatter spots on case, etc.  Some fiber missing on one foot.  Mechanically complete and working.  $2,150.

Goodale Console Phonograph playing Celluloid Strips. Unique, complete with copies of patent papers. Floor model, two horns, lots of brass, you will never see another. $12,500.
