This rare and unusual clock has a possibly unique mechanism. It
has a pivoting chime hammer striking two separate chimes - one
for the 1/2 hour and hour, the other for the 1/4 hour (e.g.
Grand Sonnerie). There are extra large gears inside the
mechanism and an elaborate extra mechanism. With this possibly
unique mechanism the clock is able to accomplish with only two
weights what a Grand Sonnerie requires three weights to
accomplish. Just two weights with this special mechanism
accomplishes the Grand Sonnerie effect. No markings. 58" tall. $5800.
