49-1. Mira 18 1/2" Disc "Decal" Console. We are extremely fortunate to have two of these decal console Miras after not having one for perhaps two years. These have always been among the most highly regarded of all music boxes, and are often considered the ultimate music box in a collection. This one belonged to an MBSI member for many years and is in very fine original condition

38-1. Mermod Freres Ideal Sublime Harmonie Piccolo 18" Interchangeable in Extensively Carved Case. The title tells it all, this is a large Mermod, with four cylinders, in an extraordinary case. While all of these 18" Mermods are fabulous collector pieces, the real story here is in the case, which is beautiful mahogany and is carved on the front, ends, and top! I have not had one with this much carving before. I try not to get carried away with these pieces, especially since now that we have the hotels we cannot keep the things we want to keep, but this is a real keeper and an exceptional piece. Fine original condition, two broken teeth, needing a normal mechanical cleaning etc You won't find another.
Sold
107-3C North Tonawanda Pianolin. This is a machine that we had intended to keep, but with the move we don't have room. Beautiful oak cabinet style case, very fine all original condition. With two ranks of pipes, these really play up a storm. Needs mechanical restoration. With ten rolls.

107-4 Rare Pianista Piano Playing Mechanism. We have never had one of these before. This is a book operated piano mechanism with bells (the actual bells are missing, but the striking mechanism is there). Missing the large upright case it would have been in, and the hot air motor which would probably have driven it. A complete one, the only other I have seen, is in the Charlotte, NC MBSI exhibit. With music books.

66-1. The Legendary Wurlitzer Mammoth.

We are excited to have been able to purchase one of just two known Wurlitzer Mammoth military band organs. This was the largest of all the band organs sold by Wurlitzer, originally having 486 pipes and some 122 keys on the roll (this one actually started life with a 10' barrel!). Converted to 165 rolls at the factory. Now missing a number of pipes including some brass and needing an extensive restoration. The Mammoth appeared on the last page of the Wurlitzer catalog, and was described as "This style is truly the most wonderful self-playing musical instrument ever built. It is equal in volume to a full brass band of from twenty to twenty-five pieces." Sold for $5,500 new compared to $1,300 for a Wurlitzer style 150. Also see Bowers Encyclopedia, page 937. 10'4" high, 10'6" wide, 4'6" deep (truly a "mammoth")  We have started the restoration process, and the restored price will be in the range (that is if we can bear to sell it after we hear this marvelous instrument). A remarkable opportunity to purchase a most important piece of American mechanical music history.

105-1. Unique Goodale Celluloid Tape Phonograph. Patented 1908, with both listening and recording apparatus. Extraordinary museum opportunity to acquire a fascinating floor model phonograph utilizing celluloid tape in 1908! Includes patent copies, original stock certificate.   A museum quality restoration is underway.

66-10. Wurlitzer Caliola. This is a neat band organ, with a keyboard that lets you play manually as well as with rolls -- I don't know another style like this other than the calliopes. This has the sound of a calliope only softer because the pipes are wood. Great fun. Older restoration but plays very well. Similar to page 944 of Bowers' but plainer case.

Sold
49-6. Wurlitzer Style 153 Band Organ on Trailer. This is, without a doubt, the most popular of all the larger Wurlitzer organs. Very melodious, large enough to be a very sophisticated organ but still reasonable to trailer, this organ will give you prominence at any event needing organ music. This belonged to an MBSI member, Mike Gorski, who took it to many Mid-America Chapter Band Organ Rallies (sometimes bringing along his bubble blowing machine!). Playing well but off of a long ago partial restoration, and currently being assisted by a vacuum box. This is a strong, attractive, ready-to-go organ on a very good quality open 4-wheel trailer. Get it before the Summer season begins!!

107-8 Reginaphone Console Style 240 with Carved Dragonheads. Fully restored example of this very popular bedplate console Regina. Refinshed mahogany case (inner lid a little wavy, needs some attention), restored mechanism. Phonograph arm replaced. Missing interior dividers. Sounds very nice, looks good, a nice example of a bargain price.

87-6 Barrel Street Piano With Drums. This is one of the neatest old barrel street pianos we have ever seen. It actually has two large drums protruding up from the top of the instrument - making it a bit of an orchestrion! This is going to require a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration, but it is fundamentally sound and all complete and the price is right.

Sold
87-9 Luminaire "Funeral Parlor" Fan. These fans are well known and extremely decorative. Very fancy, and with a nice antique brass type finish. Originally used primarily by funeral homes when viewings were in the home and there were no screens on the windows - if you get my drift. Rewired, very good condition, the taller floor model. Another great conversation piece with a "story".
