Sold 119-2 Felix The Cat Mutoscope Reel. It's been a long time since we had a spare mutoscope reel, an original one. This one is of Felix the Cat, a very popular and somewhat scarce subject. Typical condition.

119-4 Large Orchestral Cylinder Music Box "Handyman Special". This one hasn't arrived yet, but the verbal description is that it has six bells with fancy strikers, drum, castanet. Twelve tunes. Reportedly about 18 teeth broken, but a large 17 1/4" cylinder. Undoubtedly needs repinning. Will probably be priced under

119-5 Large Mermod Freres Ideal Soprano with Four 20" Cylinders. Certainly the most important addition to the website, this is potentially a fantastic music box. These very large Mermods are very difficult to find (this is the 3rd or 4th we have had in some 30 years, and there are probably less than 20 known) and exceptionally desirable because of their beautiful tonal quality and arrangements. This size has a particularly large diameter cylinder. This example is in the oak case with carved design on the front and drawer for holding the extra cylinders. No table. The case will need refinishing, the mechanism needs normal restoration plus some attention to the leads. The combs are fine with no tooth damage. This one even has the original colorful tune cards. A truly rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest cylinder music boxes ever made.

SOLD! 119-6 Symphonion 11 7/8". Very pretty double comb in the fancy case with inlay, columns, and inner glass lid. A small piece of inlay missing on the top, one foot missing, may need some lead work. Sounds very nice.

119-7 Regina 15 1/2" Short Bedplate in Oak Serpantine Case. Undoubtedly the most popular of all the table model 15 1/2" Reginas because of the exceptional sound that comes from these late double comb short bedplate models. These one needs refinishing and the mechanism needs going over including perhaps some attention to the leads. Sounds very good. These sell very quickly. With 12 discs.

119-8 Regina 27" Single Play Upright. This one has a few problems, but is priced accordingly. This is the beautiful upright style shown on page 201, upper right corner, of Bower's Encyclopedia. There are a litany of problems - combs are fine but are out of register and timing, inner boards have been replaced, coin mechanism (except for slide, which may not be original) is all missing, gallery is missing, crank is a poor replacement I think). Case has been refinished. This will be a beautiful and impressive music box, but it clearly needs some attention. With 8 discs.

119-9 Wurlitzer Style 125 Military Band Organ. This is probably the most popular style Wurlitzer band organ of all, with brass trumpets, etc. This one is on its way in from Nebraska, but reportedly is all original, retaining the nice oak finish, and was working some ten years ago.

119-10 Stella 17 1/4" Table Model "Handyman Special". We always make a few mistakes each year, and this is one of them. When you buy from around the country without a chance to examine things first, this is the occasional result. This mahogany table model with carved front and drawer is a bit of a disaster inside (and the case needs refinishing too). The single comb mechanism has about 15 broken teeth and rust on the comb. There are 6 discs with it.

119-12 Polyphon 15 1/2" Upright. This is the first Polyphon 15 1/2" upright we have had in a very very long time, for some reason this size is quite scarce in an upright. We don't have a lot of details except it is missing the pediment, doesn't have a drawer (never did?), and plays well (we shall see!). Reportedly a Style 65 "Excelsior Piccolo".

119-14 1c Colgan's Gum Vendor from 1902. This is a very rare and very early gum vendor with a complicated mechanism and glass sided cast case. Embossed "N.V.M. Co. Chicago". This is in fair original condition, and has been painted, but will restore nicely I think. We have never had another.

119-17 Mira 18 1/2" Disc Decal Console. When it rains it pours - this is the third decal decorated 18 1/2" Mira console we have had in the past year, when normally we are happy to have one per year since this is at the top of most collector's lists as the most desirable of the generally available disc music boxes. This one came from a collector in Savannah, Georgia. Nice original condition except when we bought it there were some broken teeth on the upper comb, we have had these expertly repaired and they are not noticeable. Beautiful sound, Overall should have a general cleaning and reconditioning, but a very nice example of this very desirable model. With 12 discs.
